MAKE A WAG, is a not-for-profit organization whose primary purpose is to provide financial assistance for elderly pet owners who are facing financial and emotional hardship due to unexpected and/or emergency veterinary care for their animal companions. We work in partnership with veterinarians to enable their senior pet owners to enjoy an enriched quality of life with their healthy pet companions.

Since the world pandemic (COVID-19) has hit our nation, the need to assist seniors with veterinary medical bills has exploded. For many of our elderly - especially in quarantine - often their only source of companionship, friendship, and affection were their pets. Several studies have reported that elderly pet owners often have a better quality of life, exercise more regularly, and both depression and loneliness are reduced. Unfortunately, when emergencies from sudden illness and injuries arise, the impact to the elderly pet owner can be devastating.

Your contribution to MAKE A WAG will make a difference in the lives of financially struggling seniors and help them with their emergency veterinary needs.

Unlike other veterinary charities, 100% of every contribution to MAKE A WAG, through the Veterinary Care Foundation (VCF), goes directly to improving the quality of life of pets and their owners; all Foundation operating expenses are met by membership dues paid by veterinarians and members. VCF makes it easy for supporters of MAKE A WAG to donate, and all donations are tax-deductible. All promotional and marketing expenses for MAKE A WAG are paid for by the family of Jeffrey Sutarik, DVM or by in-kind donations.
